Digicam aftercare & FAQ
Congratulations! You have just purchased what might be your first digicam from us! Taking care of your digicam may seem complex at first but it gets easier over time. To help you, we have compiled a few FAQs:
Basics
- Keep the camera in a clean pouch at all times. If dust gets into the lens, it will cause a lens error
- Do not place your palms on the lens when turning on the camera / place the lens face down on a surface
- Do not charge the batteries overnight
- Do not use force on any component of the camera to take out the memory card or battery
- Store the camera in a cool, dry location to prevent development of mold
How do I charge the battery?
Most of your would have received a universal charge that looks like this and your battery would have 3 - 4 gold plates on one of its sides
Adjust the two pins on the charger to align with the FIRST AND LAST gold plate of the battery
Pull out the two pins from the back and plug it into a wall socket. Charge for 2-3 hours and it should be full. Most chargers will not turn colour to indicate that it is full so time it accordingly.
Colour indicators
Green: NOT charging
Blinking blue: Charging
FAST blinking blue: Wrong side is being charged (flip the battery like a prata)
What to do if charger is not blinking blue?
- Flip the battery like a prata
- Check if the two pins on the charger is connected properly to the FIRST AND LAST gold plate of the battery
- Change power socket or adapter
The memory card is showing an error
There are a few reasons for this:
1. You used an sd card that is not compatible with the camera (some cameras cannot allow too large storage sd card
2. The adapter you used to is not compatible and therefore corrupted the sd card
3. The sd card has reached its read-write limit
What to do?
1. Format the memory card (go to the settings of your camera to find the option)
2. Switch to a new SD card which can be purchased very easily and cheaply!
Please note that charger, memory card and battery are complimentary and therefore non-refundable and non-exchangeable. If you require additional, you can easily purchase them on shopee at an affordable price.
Camera is not turning on (AA battery cameras)
1. Check to see if you inserted the batteries in the correct orientation. Inside the battery cover, there should be a diagram
2. The batteries you used are not strong enough to power up the camera (DO NOT use eveready or very cheap batteries)
3. Check if the battery cover is loose
Videos are not showing up when I try to transfer to my phone using an adapter
A number of digicams uses an older file format to record videos. Your latest phone will not be able to read it. To do so, you need to transfer it to your PC.
My camera is making a clicking sound, is it normal?
Yes, it is normal. This is the mechanism of old ccd cameras.
